OneAid was born out of Dr Carmen’s passion for children’s health and safety. With years of experience in the accident and emergency room, Dr Carmen shifted her focus towards accident and disease prevention and health education. Her brainchild, the MiniKit, is an award winning on-the-go first aid kit for parents and caregivers, geared towards common childhood injuries and illnesses.
Becoming a parent is one of the most challenging and liberating experiences parents go through. There is no amount of research, childcare books, magazines and blog posts that will prepare you for parenthood. For most parents keeping their little ones safe and making sure they have as little accidents as possible can be extremely stressful. It was, for this reason, Dr Carmen – mother and Doctor – created OneAid. OneAid focuses on preventing and reducing the risk of childhood injuries through first aid courses and kits geared specifically towards common childhood accidents and illnesses.
“I started OneAid to empower parents and caregivers through my own journey as a Mom-Doc, to offer useful information and tips and create products to help keep our children safe”, says Dr Carmen Briner.
Using her own experience and medical knowledge, Dr Carmen has designed and developed her first product, The MiniKit, a mini first aid kit. The MiniKit includes first aid materials like assorted plasters, burn gels, dressings and more. Plus, the MiniKit’s small size makes it fit perfectly into any nappy or handbag, so parents are always prepared, even on the go.
But that’s not all. Dr Carmen has also included a detailed first aid guide in each MiniKit that features simple, easy to use steps on what to do when your child has had a minor accident or fall. By following the guide’s steps, parents can take the necessary action when dealing with broken bones or burns for example, and will now know which medical materials to use.
More recently, Dr Carmen has put together a larger comprehensive first aid kit for the home. This kit contains more items than the MiniKit and is perfect for your medicine cupboard.
“Accidents are just that, they happen unintentionally and unexpectedly. With the right information, we can try and reduce the incidence of these accidents” – adds Dr Carmen, owner and creator of OneAid.
