MAaIKEs is a lifelong dream of mother-and-daughter team, Denise and Irusha, to produce innovative, handmade toys that will keep children interested.
They love nature and wanted it to be as renewable as possible. With time on hand during the Covid-19 pandemic, MAaIKEs at last saw the light and was launched in June 2020.
The concept of MAaIKEs is nude dolls, made as far as possible, from natural materials. They are just approximately 25cm high and just the right size for little hands. Every MAaIKE comes in a cardboard box as we want to promote sustainable play and washable markers can be purchased separately. Alternatively, you can purchase any other washable markers to decorate your MAaIKE. The child can decorate the doll to will and when a new design is desired, it can be washed in the washing machine or in the bath. Once dried, the fun can begin again. The dolls can also be used in their unadorned state and can become your child’s best MAaIKE – a portable comfort.
There are 8 different designs, with the 8th a gender-neutral doll, which can be transformed into either a boy or a girl.
